As of July 23, 2007, version 2.3i of Astrology for Windows became available for download. Version 2.3i fixes a Windows Vista display problem that was aborting the install program.
The only Windows XP/Vista issue with a 16-bit program like Astrology for Windows can arise when trying to print to a printer that connects to a USB port instead of to the normal parallel printer port. If the chart printing doesn't work, producing an error such as the error 6 Overflow error, then get out to Start, My Computer and in drive C:\ navigate to the \winastro folder. Right-click on the AST4WIN.EXE file and in Properties, Compatibility Mode, select Windows 95 or Windows 98. This works for most USB printers under Windows XP/Vista. The other solution is to get a $12 parallel printer cable to connect the printer to the computer's parallel printer port, LPT1:. There have been a couple of cases where the printer port was in use and the customer had a USB port multi-function device which could not be made to print from the 16-bit Astrology for Windows, requiring the Astrology for Windows customer to do the $149 upgrade to the 32-bit AstrolDeluxe ReportWriter.
